Champion Critic Brat – Part 2
Are you a champion, critic, or brat?
Your success or failure rides in which personality dominates — the personality perceived by others. In our prior blog a basic checklist (make this a link back to the prior blog) of champion qualities was presented. In summary a champion is that we know who we really are and what we’re capable of doing, being and becoming.
The following are lists of the qualities of critics and the brats. Take the time to determine which of those qualities you possess. And then take the test that follows.
Critics:
- Sum total of every overt and covert negative message, injunction or put down
- Beat themselves up relentlessly
- Has critical internal parent judges, scolds, keeping us off balance.
- Are filled with self-doubt
- Constant negative self-judgement
- The introvert personality dominates
- Poor self image
- Create doubt
- Berate
Brats
- Have been in this business longer than anyone else so they can’t tell me what I should do
- Can do it myself, better than anyone else even if I don’t have the time to do it
- Always knows what needs to be done
- Tell it like it is even if it isn’t diplomatic or appropriate
- Have to be truthful even if it isn’t diplomatic or appropriate
- Can’t differentiate feelings and fact
- Has his/her own agenda
- Are Disruptive
- Are Belligerent
- Must be heard
- Respond viscerally, emotionally, intellectually, not to what is real
- Have the only solution

Brat – Most destructive of all three, and the one most visible in our internal dialogue. Has an opinion about everything and thinks he/she should be in charge. The egomaniac in our brain or gut. Must always tell the truth, doesn’t know about appropriateness or diplomacy. Review the Brat list above and choose the number below that you believe describes you.

Now here is where we learn if the outside world things the same of you as you do. Once you taken the test turn the lists and tests over to others who know you so that you have a better sense of how you are perceived.
