Face to Face Skills for the Competitive Edge

I am always fascinated by how reserved  sales and business development professionals can act when they are in a workshop. Last Friday, I conducted a workshop at the MIT Sloan School 2011 Sales Conference in Cambridge. The attendees fully participated in the group exercises. When it came to an improvisation exercise that required a few volunteers to come forward and face the audience it was like “pulling teeth” to get the volunteers. Once again, it confirmed for me the lack of confidence people have in their face to face skills. It is not about shyness. It is about having experience in being successful face to face in a digital world.
