Director of First Impressions for a Win/Win

About a year ago, I had a meeting with an accounting firm and when I walked into the office I was bowled over by the nameplate on top of the receptionist desk. It read Director of First Impressions. The warm, friendly, intelligent, first impression from that receptionist set the tone for me as to what the Company culture was all about.

Just imagine how welcome one would feel walking into any office – and particularly doctors’ offices – if the person or persons sitting behind the desk or behind the glass walls were trained for and had the face-to-face skill sets for Directors of First Impressions. This face-to-face skill set is critical for any business, be it retail, professional offices, restaurants, etc.

A skilled Director of First Impressions is particularly critical when the people you’ve come to meet with are protected by receptionists, hostesses, or a variety of gatekeepers.

For a win/win, is the first-person one meets at your establishment one you would call the Director of First Impressions?
